Water saving and climate control with the aid of agrotextiles: this is the topic Arrigoni will be highlighting at EIMA 2022, the agriculture and gardening show to be held in Bologna from 9 to 13 November this year. In fact, for the first time the agrotextile production Group’s stand will be in the exhibition area entirely dedicated to irrigation (Hall 22, A/19). The same topic will also be the subject of the presentation of new data on water saving and protection in agriculture, organised by Arrigoni, at 2 p.m. on 10 November.

“As far as we are concerned,” comments company CEO Paolo Arrigoni, “this is a very significant decision. We have been extending the scope of our solutions beyond the protection of crops from pests and external factors for years now. Another of our main aims is to provide farming with greater sustainability, at all latitudes. We have just experienced a particularly dry summer, which has once again underlined the climate change emergency now facing us. So at EIMA 2022 we will be presenting our targeted solutions for optimal management of water, a more and more valuable, fundamental resource, together with the findings of our multiyear research project.”

With the aim of making a tangible contribution to saving “blue gold”, at the event the group will be presenting the findings that emerged from its multiyear research into agrotextiles and water: specifically, the new data will provide an estimate of the percentages of water that can be saved with each protective solution, in different climate conditions.

The presentation is scheduled for 2 p.m. on 10 November at the Arrigoni stand (Hall 22, A/19), with English translation.

As well as Arrigoni head of research Marco Lippolis, who will focus on the effect of agrotextiles in reducing evaporation, the speakers will include researchers from leading international agronomy organisation CIHEAM, the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies, who will discuss the relationship between water saving and agrotextiles.

Arrigoni has been partnering CIHEAM in Research for some time. The main, but not the only, aim is to investigate the agronomic effects of net and the water savings it provides. In particular, after the studies on Prisma® the Group has extended its research on all the agrotextiles it produces, and at EIMA 2022 it will be able to specify the exact percentage of water which can be saved with the various systems. What’s more, the results illustrated can be applied to all crops.

As well as EIMA, the Group will be taking part in two more international agriculture events this autumn: Agra Middle East, in Dubai on 25 and 26 October, stand H8-C42, and Growtech, from 23 to 26 November, stand 1-F105, in Antalya.
