CID Bio-Science presents the new tool for measuring stress in plants
Leading US research tools innovator CID Bio-Science is delighted to announce plans for a webinar that will preview its latest innovation: the highly-portable CI-710s SpectraVue Leaf Spectrometer. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 1st at 8am Pacific Standard Time. (Sign up here).
SpectraVue is designed to simultaneously measure the transmission, absorption, and reflection of light by biological substances within a wide range of wavelengths that cover visible and Near Infra-Red (NIR) light. A perfect tool for plant researchers and agronomists alike, SpectraVue includes a touchscreen display and on-board software suite, enabling users to both collect and analyze data while in the field.
Spectroscopy is a precise, non-destructive technique that allows users to analyze a number of processes in plants and trees. Monitoring and measuring the change in the spectral image of leaves can lead to early detection of many diseases. The progression of diseases, which is usually accompanied by an increase in severity and development of further symptoms like leaf area loss or lesions, can be arrested with timely and early treatment to reduce crop loss.
Integrated into a small handheld device, SpectraVue provides instant and insightful results in the field, forest, and lab.
The live webinar will include a real-time demonstration of SpectraVue, along with a deep dive into what it does, its different applications, and how plant physiologists, crop researchers, ecologists, environmental researchers, and educators can effectively use the instrument.
The newly redesigned instrument has been upgraded with an all-new spectrometer (360-1100 nm) to allow full operation in a handheld form factor with a 7″ 1024 x 600 IPS touchscreen display. This allows easy portability for remote operation with a full suite of built-in analysis software.
