The winning models of this year’s edition were unveiled at a prestigious event held at the Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna. A total of 62 innovations were awarded (25 as “Technical Innovation” and 37 as “Mention”), which will be exhibited at the major agricultural machinery trade fair from 9 to 13 November at the centre of the exhibition centre.

The 45th edition of EIMA International – the world agricultural machinery exhibition, to be held at the Bologna exhibition centre from 9 to 13 November – has a prestigious preview. On the evening of 5 October, more than a month before the opening of the exhibition, the awards ceremony for the Technical Innovation Competition took place.

The award ceremony showcased the models presenting new solutions with a high technological content, which will be on display at the Bologna exhibition centre during the five days of the show. The international jury of experts, which selected and awarded prizes for the most innovative technologies, chose 25 models as absolute “Technical Innovation” and awarded a further 37 models the title of “Mention”. In total, 62 innovative solutions were presented, relating to all segments of the wide range of products present at EIMA – from tractors to operating machines, from equipment to components and specialised electronics – for agriculture, gardening and landscaping, and representing the technological heart of EIMA 2022.

The event dedicated to Technical Innovations took place in the splendid setting of Palazzo Re Enzo in Piazza Maggiore, in the historic centre of Bologna. The representatives of the national and international press, present and connected via streaming, witnessed the presentation of all the award-winning models and the handing over of the awards directly to the manufacturers’ delegates. “The high number of award-winning models highlights how the sector invests heavily in research and development,” underlined FederUnacoma President Alessandro Malavolti, “and how it is able to transfer innovative, often highly advanced technological solutions very quickly to series production.” “Agricultural machinery has a mission that is now strategic,” added Davide Gnesini, Head of FederUnacoma’s Technical Office and coordinator of the competition, “that of reconciling maximum productivity with environmental protection, and that of making agricultural activity possible in any climatic and environmental setting, and all this thanks to increasingly up-to-date and high-performance technologies.” “The Technical Innovations preview was conceived to highlight the importance of the Competition and the Exhibition and to valorise the brands that are its protagonists,” said Simona Rapastella, General Manager of FederUnacoma, “but also to allow the press to get to know the innovations well in advance, and to remind the vast EIMA public that this exhibition truly offers the best possible scenario at world level in the field of agricultural mechanics.”

The award-winning innovations do not cover the entire technological content of the fair – the organisers point out – as there are many innovations presented at EIMA 2022 by the more than 1,500 participating manufacturers. For example, there are many innovative models being presented in the Tractor of the Year competition and working in the dynamic area of Green E-motion dedicated to gardening machinery, which is another new feature of this edition of EIMA International.
